Poem from Broken Glass (Chapbook 5)
GLASS
My heart is in pieces
I’m gluing them together.
I head to a glittering bar,
Glass suspended above.
Clear becomes cloudy,
Ease my pain.
Using happy hour,
For a happy hour.
Good idea at the time,
Smashed into a hangover.
Lingering losses,
Clipping away.
Until I become clear the next day,
You still see though me.
You don’t care about my pain,
I repeat my pattern.
My heart is in pieces…
